How It Works: Mifflin-St Jeor formula

The Mifflin-St Jeor formula is science's most accurate method for predicting resting metabolic rate (BMR):

Men: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5
Women: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161

We then multiply your BMR by an activity multiplier representing your lifestyle (e.g., sedentary, active, athletic) to output your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
